About Me
Born and raised in Singapore, Jeannette Rivers (formerly Pei-San Ng) earned a BA in English Literature from the University of Oxford, and a PhD in East Asian Languages and Cultures from University of California Berkeley, specializing in modern Chinese language and cultural history. In between, she has taught undergraduate Chinese, and spent years living in Beijing and Taipei as a translator and academic researcher.
She currently lives in Connecticut where she homeschools her two sons and runs Riverside Mandarin.
